10 Questions With Sanctuary Member Josue Perales

How did you hear about Sanctuary Fitness?

I heard about Sanctuary from my cousin and a friend. Every time we would go out they would mention the classes and would invite me to come. Finally, I decided after about two weeks of them telling me. It was a life changing decision.

Where or what did you do for fitness prior to joining Sanctuary?

Prior to Sanctuary I would go to the UFC Gym once or twice a week. I wasn’t as dedicated as I am now, thanks to Sanctuary.

What was your first class experience with us like?

It was a great experience. I quickly realized how out of shape I was!

Why did you join our Sanctuary family?

At the beginning, I joined because it was a closer drive for me. I also felt like progress would be quicker than attending the gym, where I didn’t always know what to do.

In your words, what makes Sanctuary Fitness special?

The instructors and the vibe you feel when you walk into the studio. The way they motivate you when you don’t even want to work out or are having a bad day is really unique.

Have you learned anything about yourself since joining Sanctuary?

I’ve learned that I can push my body more than I thought and reach even higher levels of fitness.

What is your favorite thing to eat after class?

I don’t currently have a favorite go-to food but I try to have anything with protein.

What is the last good book you read?

“Crushing It” by Gary Vaynerchuk.

Tell us something about you that not many people know.

I collect Dodger bobbleheads. I started about 2 years ago and have about 40 of them.

What would you say to someone new to Sanctuary?

I would tell them that I have seen better results coming here than when I used to go to the gym by myself. There are great instructors that can take you to the next level in your fitness journey.
